Is a web-based study tool, designed to help students study and practice spelling lists. It is appropriate for students K-12. The program is free for most applications on the website. Some applications are not free such as Flash Cards, some Games and Activities. As a teacher using Spelling City, you can create spelling lists and save them. Once they are saved, they can be accessed by students to learn the words through web-created vocabulary tests, 'teach me' application, flash cards and games. Then the student can take a spelling test on the website and it will be scored. There are endless teacher and student resources, but many of which are only available through a subscription.

In my classroom, students who are learning reading and writing skills with the Language! program (grades 3-5), are encouraged to visit the page that is designated to the spelling lists that are taught through Language! book A. The lists are developed and saved through "Sheryl Ferlito." Once students get to the website, they only need to type in "Ferlito" and then verify the school, "Dakota High School." After, a list of units will appear and then the student needs to select a unit number. The list will appear with activities that the student can click on. Additionally, students who are learning phonics and spelling skills with the Words Their Way program (grades K-5), are encouraged to visit the page that is designated to the spelling lists that are studied. Students can practice lists before they take their weekly or bi-weekly spelling sort quiz.
